Please Note: For the purpose of this document ADAGIO|Music Festival will further be referred to as The Festival.
The decision of the Adjudicator(s) and the grants/awards of the directors shall be final.
Adjudicator(s) is/are not permitted to enter into any discussion or correspondence regarding any subject prior to, or during The Festival.
Directors will decide the order in which the categories will be heard, and will arrange the order of the contestants in each category.
Entries must be in writing on the provided form and must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, March 30, 2012 and accompanied by the Prescribed Entry Fee. Entry fees shall be those designated for each class in the syllabus and are not refundable. Note: Teachers will receive the confirmation forms with scheduled date and time for each category.
Present student(s)/pupil(s) of the adjudicator(s) will not be accepted in classes he or she is adjudicating.
Any person receiving $1,000 or more per year for musical services is regarded as a professional, and may not be accepted in The Festival.
Competitors may choose to enter only once in a particular category, except in ensemble classes, where competitor(s) are free to participate in more than one group.
Competitor(s) may enter any number of classes for which he/she qualifies.
A particular piece may be entered in one category only.
Competitors must enter only at the grade level they are currently studying.
Only One Grade Level may be entered.
Competitor(s) must bring a copy of the music for the adjudicator(s) on the day of the competition. Number of adjudicators will be announced prior to the date of The Festival.
All selections must be memorized except Parent & Child, duets and trios.
Competitors being coached from the audience during competition will be disqualified.
It is the responsibility of the entrant to select the appropriate class, otherwise except adjudication, no mark and/or award will be given.
To be considered for a scholarship, the contestant must enter two or more categories.
It is the responsibility of the Teachers to inform the students and their parents of rules of The Festival.
NO PHOTOCOPIED MUSIC ALLOWED!
POINTS TO REMEMBER:
1. You may Not perform your selection(s) from Photocopies.
2. Please bring a copy of each selection for the Adjudicator(s)
3. Present Student(s) of Adjudicators cannot enter the contest adjudicated by their teacher.
4. Contestant must enter ONLY the Grade Level He/She is Currently Studying.
5. Any person receiving $1,000.00 or more per year, for providing Musical Services may not enter the Competition, as He/She is considered a Professional.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE!
