2025 FESTIVAL LOCATION

This year's festival will take place in St. Matthew's United Church located at: 333 Crosby Ave, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 2R5

Vanessa Ng is a fourth-year music education major at the University of Toronto, and she is the Vice-President Communications of the Faculty of Music Undergraduate Association. She is the recipient of many academic and merit-based scholarships, most recently of which are the Frank Harmantas Trombone Scholarship from the University of Toronto and the Geoffrey E. Norton Memorial Scholarship from the Norton family. She first began her musical journey at a young age when her parents enrolled her in piano lessons. She has competed and won piano competitions in festivals such as the Adagio Music Festival and New Conservatory of Music Festival in both solo and duet competitions with her sister, Serena.

Vanessa is currently teaching young children the joys of playing piano at Annette Street Music. She often incorporates improvisation and student led learning in her lessons to give her students the agency they need to flourish in their piano lessons. Vanessa is also passionate about Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility, and serves on IDEA committees for both the Ontario and Canadian Band Associations. Her love for equity work has led her to publish a column and co-author an article, both featured in the Canadian Winds. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her silly border collie Cookie on forest walks and caring for her many plants.
